Hey!
I’m Mindaugas Bikauskas or you might know me as “Deeb”, ”Rhythm Junkie” or some other nickname (that’s not very important). This is my blog! And here is the place I paste a small part of my life. I guess most people reading this blog know me already, but just in case, some short story what am I and what is this blog about.
So, I will write mostly about the vintage part of my life, witch is growing bigger and bigger. That includes Lindyhop, Swing music, my band “Rhythm Junkies”, vintage clothing and all the things can think of which are older than fifty years or looks that old.
It all started when i got into lindyhop life. It took only a few month and lindyhop became my life. After a year I really got into swing music. I began lisining lots and lots of it, trying to understand it and trying to find my most favorite sounding. Then, after a few years I’ve decided to learn how to swing myself. I knew how to play guitar, but I never knew how to swing. After half year practise I’ve decided to form a music band, but only of lindyhoppers. We have a lack of swing bands in Lithuania, that was the main encouragement for us. And after half year practicing and playing together it really feels that we’ve done something good.
I thing it is obvious what this blog is all about. Here are some facts about me:
- 2006.03 I’ve started dancing Lindyhop.
- 2007 Active participation with ”Lindyhop.lt” dance club. Together with Giedre started teaching lessons.
- 2007.06.01-03 One of organizer of international lindyhop workshop „Harlem 2007“ in Vilnius.
- 2007.07.21-08.04 International swing dance camp „Herrang Dance Camp„ in Sweden. First time here taking classes.
- 2008.05.30-06.01 One of organizer of international lindyhop workshop „Harlem 2008“ in Vilnius.
- 2008.07.04-27 International swing dance camp „Herrang Dance Camp„ in Sweden. Taking classes and DJ’ing.
- 2008.12 Founder of a street swing ensemble “Rhythm Junkies”.
- 2009.03.20-22 One of organizer of international lindyhop workshop „Harlem 2009“ in Vilnius.
- 2009.05.21-25 Frankie Manning’s 95th Birthday Festival.
- 2009.07.04-30 International swing dance camp „Herrang Dance Camp„ in Sweden. Taking classes and one one of Staff DJ’s for 2 weeks.
